Shared-Time programs provide an opportunity for students to enroll in a career and technical education course while attending their home high school. The shared-time classes are a half-day in length and the student continues with their regular course of study at their home high school the other half of the day. Most programs consists of two years of study in which the student learns skills that will qualify them for entry-level jobs or prepare them for further education in their chosen career and technical education field. In addition, the students will learn workplace readiness skills and may participate in clinical experiences, shadowing experiences, or work-based structured learning.

As per the 2016-2017 school calendar, the school closing on March 14th due to snow changes Friday May 26th to a regular scheduled school day for staff and students.
Career Technical Education Math (CTEM) is a combination of algebra, geometry and numerical concepts. Curricula is devoted to enhancing the student’s mathematical understanding within the vocational/technical area as well as assist in preparation to successfully meet the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) requirement and basic skills college entrance exam (ACCUPLACER & TERRA NOVA).
Career Technical Education Science (CTES) is a combination of physical science, environmental science and various concepts of general science. Curricula is devoted to enhancing the student’s understanding and relationship of science within the vocational/technical area as well as assist in preparation to successfully meet the proposed New Jersey High School graduation requirement.
Integrated CTE Math (ICTEM) consists of topics from a wide variety of mathematical fields such as algebra, geometry, trigonometry, probability and statistics.
Integrated CTE Science (ICTES) emphasizes the relationships amongst science concepts such as biology, chemistry, physics, environmental and social science. All Integrated CTE Math and Sciences are imbedded instruction within the CTE curriculum and classes.
STRUCTURED LEARNING Program
Monmouth County Vocational School District’s structured learning program is designed to provide students with career pathways planning, employability skill development, occupational workplace training, and other employment experiences related to a chosen career. The MCVSD has partnerships with affiliated schools, parents, businesses, industry, and community agencies that create opportunities for students to participate in quality job training.
Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs are aligned with industry and academic standards. CTE programs create well-marked paths students can follow from school to entry-level employment or post secondary training. Structured Learning unites business and industry, organized labor, community-based organizations, parents, schools, and higher education and aims to ensure that students become skilled workers with a desire for life-long learning. The Structured Learning experience integrates school-based learning and work-based learning to better provide students with career preparation.
